'The research carried out to develop the Chelsea model is an expression of Jean Nouvel's artistic sensibility. The handle is created at the same time as the 100 11th Avenue residential tower that Jean designs for the neighborhood in the heart of Manhattan from which it takes its name: he imagines architecture as a "vision machine" capable of capturing the reflections of the Hudson River on which it overlooks. For the handles, Jean asks Olivari for a model out of the usual. He is looking for a different form than the tubular geometry that conventionally inspires the lever.'
